Training as a clinical psychologist typically takes a minimum of six years of University study and ongoing professional development to ensure they stay atop of current research on best-practice therapies.
Service Fees
Medicare
Under the Better Access initiative, Medicare have now made seeing a psychologist affordable. Consultations with a psychologist attract a Medicare rebate if you are referred from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. With this plan you’ll receive a rebate of $129.55 for each consultation with a clinical psychologist and $84.80 for each consultation with a general psychologist.
Through our Eftpos terminal, a refund will be transferred into your nominated Savings or Cheque account. This transfer goes into your account almost immediately.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with extras cover that includes psychological counselling, you may be eligible for a rebate. For further information, check your insurance policy or contact your insurance provider.
Please note that you cannot claim from both Medicare and Private Health Insurance for the same consultation.
Our HICAPS terminal can process your private insurance rebate immediately.
